Hi everyone,
We are now less than two weeks from the first Platoon Britannica event at Warhammer World in Nottingham on Sunday 27th July... and we hope you are as excited as we are!
Doors will be open for you to arrive and set up your stuff from 10:00am. The event itself will officially start at 11am, with a presentation. This presentation will mainly be about why we have attempted this endeavour and welcoming you all to the first PB event. It will be short lasting no longer than 15 minutes, after all who wants to sit and listen to us when you can be chatting and looking at minis with each other!
We shall be asking those of you that attend the event how we could improve and what you as painters would like to see from this group and from future events. This information will be taken on board and we shall attempt to improve our communication and service. If you think its something that we can improve lets us know, just do it with a smile. We would like to make you aware that all of us have real lives that often get in the way of our passion for painting and that this is the first event that any of us have ever organised, so we ask for you patience on the day if things are quite going completely to plan.
Games Workshop & Warhammer World would like us to remind those attending that they have limited food service on the day. Specifically, food is only available to order through Bugmans Bar and only between 12:00noon and 3:00pm. They can only take around 10 orders at a time so lets coordinate and make sure three groups of eight don\'t all go for lunch at 12:00 on the dot! You are allowed to bring your own food and drink to the event if you prefer.
One other thing, we love miniatures! All miniatures! From all companies! But we would like to point out that although Warhammer World has given us a free hand in what people bring and show, we should all consider that the event is being held in their hall, so please think about what you bring. If you are unsure ask one of the PB crew on the day, and let us take the flak if we believe it is okay.... the simple rule is, bring everything, but be prepared to only display some of it.
Demos. A number of you have very kindly offered to undertake both painting and sculpting demos already. We have managed to get Games Workshop to kindly agree to supply a limited number of plastic miniatures for the painting and conversion demos. We will of course also have use of painting stations, water cups, mixing tiles etc, though those doing demos will need to bring your own paints. If you have expressed an interest in doing a demo already, please can you e-mail us back asap and let us know what kind of miniature you need to do your demo... eg: if you\'re demo is about realistic flesh tones, you probably don\'t want a load of skeletons to demo with! We may not be able to get you a specific mini, but we can at least get the right race or something close to what you need. Once again, those doing demos... please e-mail us back asap with your ideas and requirements. Those doing any kind of demo, please also come and chat to a member of the Platoon Britannica crew when you arrive and we\'ll get you set up with what you need.
We look forward to seeing you all next weekend!

Please remember to ask permission before touching anyones work. A lot of time and effort is invested in these models, show respect for that by not touching unless you have been given permission to do so. Also we (as in Platoon Britannica organisers and Warhammer World) can not accept any responsibility for damages occurred on the day, the models are your responsibility!
