Rob, do u think it be possible to sort out a few tables for fiasco?

can\'t see why not.. I\'ve alreay had a chat with the organisers there about the possibility of getting a painting comp up and running there and that will come more for ext year.. give ma a few days and I\'ll get back to ya........Generally there is plenty of spare space dotted around but I\'m sure a couple of tables put aside to make sure wouldn\'t be too much of a stretch for them....

Ah, but my boyfriend pointed out an interesting thing when we were there- a lot of the people that play miniature wargames and paint minis seem to be based in rather bleak Northern places, where there probably isn\'t much else to do. West Wales is like this too, take it from me. So from their pov, that\'s where most of the mini-painting population live... ;)

Because North of London and west into Wales people know how to play and have fun whereas south of London its mainly commuter land and its all work and no rest or play :D :D

Liverpool, Leeds, Bolton, Manchester... it aint all bleak up hear u know!:no: well maybe bolton, the only thing that seems to keep them occupied up their is facial hair growth lol

Sounds good rob, if we can get a few tables for cheap or for free that be great. Staging a comp sounds good too, a little bit of competitiveness between the northern factions could really spur people on, especially if we could get sponsorship by some of the companies their

:D I know! I had a friend at school who had a brilliant time at Bolton uni, and who spoke fondly of Manchester. His facial hair was... sparse. Possibly he was growing something else... lol

Ah don\'t forget that some mad people in Bolton have to Brave the daily travel through Liverpool as well. The Facial Hair is not just local camouflage. ;)

Well Bolton has had a number of \"Farms\" found in recent years.
Some have actually had legal crops as well.
Having said that when I mentioned going to Lenton for last Sunday to a colleague, she told me that\'s where she grew up, and where her parents had a \"Herbal Farm\".
Probably explains why she\'s such a \"laid back\" teacher.

Or we are not willing to pay for over-inflated costs just cos it\'s in London.

maybe a new thread is required.. for me before games day is gonna be a struggle a day travelling and attending is a day less on the dwindling days remaining to actually get somethig finished in time..

i do agree rob, gd is only 6 weeks away so not long, fiasco in october would be another 6 weeks after that which would be about right maybe?

if there is anyone in the north east area that fancies meeting up more informally (ie just at someones house say) i would be interested. i cant offer much in the way of offering good advice to the majority but would probably help me if nothing else

Sorry guys been a bit busy.

I am up for a meet , though I was just wondering about the guys local to me who could as been said above meet on a more informal basis more often.

Robin

Damn i wish i saw this post earlier....I could have showcased all of my models.....all one of them! haha, well i hope i will meet some of you in the future, it\'d be a cool experience.

Well, it looks like it\'s going to be a regular thing with smaller local meetings whenever people feel like it/can find a location.

Several people took a group photo at the end of the afternoon but as of yet I still haven\'t seen one of them :(

I didn\'t take one myself because I only had the macro lense with me and couldn\'t fit everybody in.
