Hi All,
I had a sudden burst of inspiration the other day after I realised that I\'ve got a week and a half off for Christmas and should have all of my website projects completed by then. For the first time in ages I may actually have time to myself
So in a attempt to put this time to something constructive, I\'m going to kick off a large modelling project. I\'ve spent a couple of days sketching out my designs and working out what materials I need. Lunchtime (well mid-afternoon at work really) I ordered a venerable collection of plastic pipes, domes and plastic sheets (all from EMA Model Supplies). But I am currently lacking with a couple of things.
Firstly, guitar strings. Now the clue is in the name with what they are but the websites I\'ve looked at expect me to be Eric Clapton. What should I be buying, how much, what type is what size?
Next up - rivets. I know that this has been discussed before, but what\'s the best way of putting rivets onto a model? I shall be ordering a load of ball bearings (from Simply Bearings) for larger rivets, but what about the small ones that I\'ll probably be adding hundreds of.
Finally, my intention is to construct the model in its basic guise, make a few copies in resin and then I can customise them. Now EMA sell some supplies, but who do people currently rate as suppliers of this type of stuff in the UK?
Apologies on if I\'m going over old ground with any of these bits, I know that for those of you who this is \'bread and butter\' I\'m probably coming across as another newbie who needs to be pointed back to old threads, but I\'m also very aware that in the current economy, a company that was rubbish 6-months ago could well be a little gem now.
thanks for reading,
pete
