The bases was something that was discussed by various members up there on the day and I though maybe that was why one of my entries didn\'t get through as he was on a round base.

It is rumoured that next years GD will see a rules update on the strict use of GW bases only but I guess we will have to wait and see on that one :D

Oz GD this year allows only GW bases, no display bases (plinths etc) at all. Obviously there are a couple of categories where like war machine where they just specify a max base size, but basically its the base the mini came with. For 40k single it has to be on a 25mm round, even conversions (but terminators and only terminators get 40mm), which is causing me trouble for one of my entries coz it has to be on a 40mm, hopefully it will go into the monster category.

i agree with ogrebane, nice work, good idea.

i am keen to see how the Oz GD goes because of the tough basing rules, the quality of the bases might unfortunaly fade away:(, but i guess we will have to wait and see

The rule in the past has always been very specific stating that it had to be the gaming base for the single figure category (round for 40K, square for fantasy). Enforcing it, however, was always very lax (for example, Mike Anderson has won 13 demons for both fantasy and 40K minis and all of them had round bases).

This year the rule was changed to \'appropriate sized bases\' so the shape wasn\'t important. I dont think they will be changing that in the UK for next year to be honest.
