Ultramarine Commander from the new box set

I am pleased overall with the way he ended, I am going to try and get the skin tones better . I dont really like the way he is holding the bolter but other than that i like the mini. Please feel free to leave me a comment.

he\'s ok. it\'s hard to comment with such a small pic. the main thing i can say is, he looks highlighted but not shaded. some darker shading and some darklining would really help with him i think

looking good :beer: i agree with freak some shading on the amour and cloak would defiantly make the mini better.

I agree with you that it is hard to tell from the picture but i did highlight the cloak both inside and out and the armour. The varnish I am using is a satin finish BUT it still looks live its been polished up for parade! The more I look at the lighting the more annoyed I get. However I dont have a propper camera to take the pics with I am using my phone to take them. The reason I didnt post the back of him to show the highlights on the cloack is beacuse I dont know how to use GIMP propperly so I dont know how to stick to pictures together(I am a numpty I think I am doing well turning on the PC without the aid of a hammer)
But overall I think my painting is getting batter....I sure hope so!:beer:

i not sure if you understood the highlights are fine it just needs shading ( dark areas ) theres not enough contrast imo

aye. also i agree with you, some matte would help

The blues could use more highlighting and shading and the pink dosn\'t do a thing for me. I like what you have done with the cloth. Cloth\'s not an easy thing to do well.
