Just watched it. It's a bit meh, I think. I won't show any spoilers here, but I found the plot fairly predictable, the CGI not particularly impressive, and ... well, just so much wasted potential. Admittedly, it might be all they could manage on a given budget. I quite regret buying this now.

Yeah it's a bit meh.. I was hoping for more from the story given that Dan does write good books. Viewed as a fanflick it is passable though and there are some cool scenes and tension.

the cub got his this morning so me n him just sat through it 90 minutes of my life i will never get back

I've received it yesterday and watched it now. for emperors sake it's in different languages. story was okay, the making was okay, not too bad for a "non-commercial" movie. i must say, the price is appropriate. my girlfriend liked it, too. yeah, shes great.

tidoco2222 do not read until after you've seen the movie.

why not everyone in the movie does....oops sorry my bad.

honestly though typical dan abbnett style, there could never be 1000 spacemarines per chapter at the rate he goes through them you couldnt maintain the turnover with such high attrition rates. personally i thought sm would be harder to kill.

still not digging the "penshioners in space" look too bad. something more like the dow trailers would have been more like it

A friend of mine, who recently saw it gave me this review:

"att folk köper den, kommer göra bästa film bättre
att dom har gjort en film, kommer även låta folk säga vad dom vill ha ändring på
till nästa
som köpet av filmen, sponsrar.

Jag ångrar inte att jag köpte filmen
Det va mycket i filmen jag inte gillade
Och jag visste att "animeringen" inte skulle passa mig

Men som tobbe sa
Dawn of War intro filmen, hade 3gånger så stor budget...
inte konstigt att det blir skillnad

Jag ser detta som början på nåt vackert!"

Free translation:
"That people are buying it will make the next movie better, that they made one at all will give people the opportunity to say what they'll want changed in the next one that buying this will sponsor.

I do not regret buying this even though there was a lot in it I didn't like and I knew that the animation style wouldn't suit me.

But like Tobias(Our LGS Owner) said:
The DoW intro movie had a budget three times this entire movie budget, is it strange there's a difference?

I see this as the beginning of something beautiful!"

Still haven't seen it myself though but I like his point.

future note games workshop just because dan abnett can write books and comics doesn't mean he knows the first thing about script writing for movie also limited budget doesn't mean you don't need a director and can just chuck anyone from the office in as a voice actor

though i doubt you'll learn your lesson...i saw inquisitor

I suspect rather strongly, if they let Abnett actually "direct" it, it'd be better. Words are one thing but Abnett actually makes the whole scene come to life.
