Ultramarine on Carpet

I spilled a whole pot of GW Ultramarine Blue on our carpet while painting a Rhino. Anybody know a quick way to remove it?

With all the painters here I\'m sure this has happened to some of you.

quick use a wet-vac!

now to edit the post....a good little wet vac i have seen get up house painting enamels so the citadel color shouldn\'t stand much of a change.

if you don\'t have access to one then do NOT rub. dab up excess paint and use a rag with warm water to get up what you can. don\'t fear some excess water you can clean it up, but don\'t flood your floor or carpet padding.

i suggest for future go to your hardware store and get some poly-sheet. clear or blakc plastic and use it for a drop cloth for your painting area. if not get some trash bags and lay them out under your painting area to prevent spills in the future from getting out of hand.

Yeah carefully get a carpet knife, make 4 straight cuts and remove that square of carpet...

Or...

Go rent a carpet cleaning machine and get some solvent based carpet cleaner and slowly work out the stain. But Ultramarine blue may be there for ever.

Not really helpful but might I suggest hardwood floors or painting in the basement? :drunk:

Oops! Too late! I panicked and rubbed! My desk is covered as normally that\'s were the spill would go but I didn\'t expect a large model to fall out of my hands and send a pot sideways...hit my chest and emptying all the contents.

Basement? I live in San Francisco, don\'t have enough space to live let alone paint. Come to think about it, I\'ve never seen a basement in San Francisco yet.

ouch. rubbing anything into carpet usually means you set the stain in.....

best guess is a steam cleaner next if you cant get it out with a wet-vac. :(

paint the whole carpet and tell everyone its a new one. if all the other suggestions dont work, try putting an old towel soaked in bioling water on it. should loosen it. then shampoo it and repeat
