Ultramarine Rhino: Will this work...

I\'m about to paint a GW Ultramarine Rhino. Since I don\'t have an airbrush I plan to do this:

1. Prime Krylon Gray
2. Base coat Krylon Classic Navy Blue Spray (as they don\'t have Ultramarine Blue)
3. Heavy drybrush GW Ultramarine Blue
4. Apply highlights and black lining.

Or should I just skip spraying the Krylon Classic Navy and just use a brush to manually paint the Ultramarine Blue?

i think that you would have better results applying the ultramarines blue manually rather than the spray, seems like the chance that the pigments would matchup closely enough to look good would be low. also if you do decide to use the spray paint skip the primer as that wouldnt really be needed.

As long as its a base color, and flat of finish and not oil based, that should work just fine. You need not worry about colors meshing when its just a base and you intend to drybrush over it (you want some color difference).

The Krylon is not flat. But I thought that maybe everything will match up when I apply a dullcoat at the end. Seems like I should skip the spray.

Try what you are thinking of on something else first. A piece of plastic or cardboard would be a goo dtest subject. If it works, let us know

Did not work on my test piece. The color difference between the two blues are too great. So, I\'ll have to do the whole vehicle manually with a brush.
