Um...hello! First paint job for a while...

Two weeks ago, me and a bunch of other folk were talking about GW and 40k and remembering bits and bobs about the hobby.

This has since turned into a full blown assault on the GW stores, as we\'ve been busy buying loads of stuff and generally getting all enthusiastic about things.

Bear in mind that the last time I picked up a brush was 15 years ago, I\'m fairly happy about the way things turned out on this figure.

Even better was the fact that the vast majority of my paints (some over 20years old!) are absolutely fine still! Which is a result.

Considering that there\'s an awful lot of stuff on CMON that is just so absolutely awesome I was fairly nervous about posting my first effort...but hey, we\'ve all got to (re)start some time.

Make of it what you will...

Kommando here!

Thanks all - you\'re an inspiration!

Squig is right, does look good considering how long you haven\'t painted for. I noticed with your image tho you had the same photographic problems as i had for a long time. First of all just get some plain A4 sheets of white paper as a background and base, all i do is 2 sheets (depends on the thickness of your paper) some brighter light sources, if you\'re going to use the flash on your camera move the camera well back. You should notice a better image quality. Well thats my 2 cents :) i hope it helps, im pretty much a newbie at taking photos though.

Thanks for the comments! I\'ll definitely use the A4 paper tip to photograph the next figure though!

this is a wonderful first mini..... the greens are done beautifully and what not. the rest is pretty well. the one down side is the metal on the sword. it reminds me of putting a dab on and then pulling it off with your own finger....i did this in the beginning and if you just take a moment to add some more paint it would really make it look better.

cheers

Thanks for the kind words (and after seeing your fantastic minis, it\'s high praise!).

So frustrating at the moment - too busy with work to have any energy to paint my next one (well, half started, but not happy yet!)! Looking forward to having a few days off to get down to it again!

Cheers, Joe.
