Ok this was a quick 2 hour job for eBay. I tried to fit in as many good techniques as time possible on this one. Looking for feedback or tips on quick 2 hour paint jobs.

Also if you can help identify the manufacturer of this mini please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Harsh I know, but try taking more than two hours, use a smaller brush and use thinned paint! And straighten that blade, chief!

I\'m gonna echo reverend here, and also add that painting fast for ebay isn\'t neccessarily going to get the best result for you.
If you could paint to a score of an 8 in two hours you\'d really have the means to make a decent turnaround on your purchase outlay.
What I\'d suggest is that you should work on the means to make certain areas quick (ie drybrush metals {*}) and work more slowly and accuratley on things like skin tones. One big suggestion do the eyes before you paint the rest of the skin sets them in properly and realy helps hold the figure together.

{* Yes I said drybrush, while it is sometimes seen as a beginners trait it is by no means as simple as that. Drybrushing is a technique that can produce excellent results when applied properly.
I often use it for Orks like this:
GW Boltgun Metal, Drybrush in circles over the areas I want metal.
Vallejo Airbrush Chrome, Smaller drybrush to accentuate details. (as this is a far finer pigmented paint it seriously does the business.)
Wash over with Vallejo Black Glaze, when dry gives a great aging effect on the metal.

Forgive my ignorance on this, but...

... is there some significance behind a two-hour paint job for EBAY? Is there like, a competition or something? Are you trying to turn mini painting into a business?

It was a mini that I didn\'t want to put more than 2 hours into before dumping it on eBay as a tabletop for $10 - $15.00, I only had a $1 in the fig, and I have a entire table of figures I want to paint. I do paint lots of figs with more care and thinner layers I was just asking for any tips on painting within that 2 hour time frame for figures you want to turn around for tabletop quality.

It\'s not a contest, the market of eBay bears about $10 - $20 max for tabletop stuff and I didn\'t (personally) want to spend more than 2 hours on this piece. I have many pieces I like a lot better for more quality work.

Hope everyone gets the picture.

basecoat and dip.
it will bring you far better results and is far quicker than 2 hours.

anything else, then you will have to practice and put the time in.

I\'ve never even experimented with dipping. So you think for a quick job like the one above it would give better looking results?

I would have thought it would have made the colors look kinda blah, especially the colored metallics.

I would like to hear more from people that have tried the dipping method on quick pieces and what the resullts would look like on bright colors. Again I have 0 experience with the dipping method.
