I'll preface this by saying that I'm not nearly as good as most of the wip-threads on here, so I figured I'd take the opportunity to get pointers and help along the way.

I'm currently trying to learn NMM, started today with the Gray Maiden from reaper. I haven't gotten very far, as most of my time today was spent researching, but here's what I have so far.

As you can see I've only done the base layer for most of the helmet, the earpiece has received highlights, although I need to adjust the upper one a tiny bit to make it more in line with the other two.

Any comments or pointers are more than welcome. :3

Here's today's update. Did some progress, not sure I'm entirely pleased with the result, but for now it'll have to suffice.

Some smoothing and minor adjustments that need doing, I think I need to push the dark spots a bit darker, but I'm not sure about that, so any comments are more than welcome.

Here's where I'm currently at, toned down the top of the head and reworked the highlights a bit. I'm kinda satisfied with it now, so I moved on to the chestplate, and later to the body part of the armour.

The plan is to have all the bit metal areas in the blue metal, and all flourishing details in red/orange metal.

Here's another quick update, did the "chainmail" today, not entierly sure what it's supposed to be, but now it's metal plates.

Also did some basecoating on the shield and the boots, not sure what to do with the shield, but that'll sort itself eventually.

Here's today's update, didn't get too much done, but I spent an hour or so putting agitators in my paint bottles, so that's something at least.

I'm not very pleased with the shield, and the boot could use some work, I'm leaning towards painting the shield "painted" with something on it instead of metal, but that'll sort itself eventually.

Decided that the shield would be better of with a freehand, so I did that.

Also been fiddling with some cog bases for my malifaux crew, but no pictures yet.

Redid the shield again, the freehand didn't fit with the rest of the model, also started blocking in colours elsewhere and shading the cape.

I've also been building bases for my malifaux crew, and assembling them, I'll try to get pics of that up eventually.

Still need to do touch-ups with epoxy, so don't judge too harshly... :3

So... real life happened.

Anyhow, here's an update.

I'm calling the knight "done", since I want to move on to my guild ball team and my malifaux crew. Knowing that painting the crews will be kinda uniform I also prepared a bust for variation.

Here's the "finished" knight:

I also had some fun trying out pastel shading, although I think I need a different, and slightly stiffer brush for it to work properly. But first I'll try scraping the pastels with something else first, it's definitely a fun technique though, and I'll likely move to shading with pastels rather then washes, for a little bit at least.

So.... No updates for a while, sorry.
