Ok its been a long time since I updated my gallery and my website and I though it would be good to explain myself (as well as prompt me to kick myself into gear to get it done)! First off, this isn\'t because I\'ve not been doing anything, I have. In fact I\'ve been spending so much time painting that I haven\'t had a chance to get my website updated.
So far I have the following models I\'m going to post in the near future:
Waywatcher
Wolfen Vestal
Ophyr the Guardian
Killyox
Irix the Sibyl
A Warlord Griffon
GW Carnosaur and of course Trogdor the fire dragon. This is basically this year\'s work!
Anyway, theres also another reason I haven\'t posted much. I\'m at the stage of painting now where I think the major let down is my photography. I have taken a few pics of my latest work, but I\'m not overly happy with them. The vestal for the Groundforge comp is a good example, she\'s nice and bright, a good size image but a lot of the subtle shading on the front looks washed out to me (especially the white areas) and judging by the way people are voting I don\'t feel she\'s presented to her best.
So this is something I would like to address. I\'ve been using several light sources covered with some grease proof paper to diffuse the light and a plain blue background. I\'m going to try and reduce the exposure setting to 1.7 (it was at 2.0) to see if this makes any difference and then reshoot. But if anyone else has any other tips, please let me know. I use a sony DSC-P50 cybershot by the way.
Also any general reviews and comments about my entry would be nice too (you can see it on the Groundforge fantasy paintathon thread) ...:innocent:
