Just saw it on a tooled-up 50\" wide-screen in work (plugged a little aerial into the tracking-system display monitor/TV and it worked a treat lol). Utterly electrifying. Gay was class, Bolt was just superhuman.

he didn\'t even look like he was pushing himself.

That\'s what makes it so insane. I remember back at the Olympics, it\'s like he was just playing with the other runners.

Bolt. Aptly named.

Amazing. I don\'t think I could run the 10m in that time!

Pffft.... whatever. I can go WAY faster then that in my \'95 Grand Caravan. Don\'t see anyone giving ME a medal....

I somehow always manage to feel shame when I hear about world record 100m sprints. I was in the 8th Grade when Ben Johnson broke the record, then was busted for the dope. I still personally feel a touch of shame remembering that blemish on Canadian history.

It\'s amazing to look at what the human body can be trained to do.

Ben Johnson was 15 when he moved here from Jamaica, so I don\'t claim any national ownership of his being stripped of medals/records. The rules for who can perform for what country seem kinda broken to me, but that\'s another discussion. I saw Bolt both times and it was pretty nuts... I think I ran 100m in like 12 seconds once and I thought it was pretty good at the time.

Ditto :) Ain\'t it funny that this wouldn\'t have beaten the record going all the way back to 1912?!

But pot slows you down surely? So the man should be commended!

Peace and love...

Cah Matty, his body was full of steroids and stuff. Probably pot, horse urine, and all that other stuff too!

thats because you dont realise a major majority of our top track athletes are all from the carribean

Ben johnson still lives around toronto, its not like he jumped in to canada then jumped away, he stayed...not to mention the rest of those sprinters have been busted with drug use over the years...everyone was doing it to get to that level...its dumb to do, but its not like taking drugs makes you faster, he still had to do all the work

as for not running full out, thats important as you actually run faster at about 95% than at 100% balls out because running, just like hurdling and dancing, is all about rhythm

the reason bolt runs so fast is most sprinters have that turnover but are under 6 feet, bolt is 6\'5 getting the same turnover rate and massive leavers for unbelievable torque per stride

his splits are ridiculous, they are like 0.82s for 10m at his fastest and was hitting 44kmph....that was beijing

he did this AFTER 50m, thats incredible speed endurance, your average athlete dies around 60m to give you an idea

Bolt is just too phenomenal, i\'ve seen all his record breaking runs and like others have said its crazy that he hasn\'t ran at his fastest for a maintained distance. When he gets past people he just drops a notch cos he knows he has won.

He said he could run it in 9.40 seconds and I definitely do not doubt him. It is just as though he was engineered to be an athlete. I remember seeing something about it saying how his height is perfect and leg length makes him ideal to run, and his muscle fibre etc.

I cant fathom doing 100m in so short a time, my quickest is like 11.4 or something similar.

Bolt ftw

This evening he did the double, again, breaking the world record by 0.11 seconds. And people said he looked a little tired yesterday.
