so is there any use for all those sprue frames that every modeller inevitably has lying around, and if u do, cool uses would be awesome!

Some military modellers use stretched sprue to make weld lines on scratchbuilt or converted/'corrected' armour builds.

Ive used little bits on bases to represent steel girders at times, and ive seen someone make crystals for Necron bases somewhere (cant remember where though)

Im sure there must be a ton of other uses too...

I use a bunch of straight sprues with a piece of pinning wire stuck in the end to hold small parts for painting.
Some i put through a meat grinder for Rubble.

Love the wargames factory recycling idea that Tercha linked. Pity Post costs are to prohibitive from Australia to US.

You can also stretch sprue for wires, whip aerials, bowstrings etc.

Interesting factum: when stretched sprue retains the same cross-section as it started with.

You can also make vines and tentacles and plant stems and that sort of stuff with the heat and pull the sprue method. If you melt the tip and poke it into the side of a tank or armuor plate and pull away you get a big sort of lazer hole or bullet hole, depending how hard you push, how long you wait to pull up, etc. Gotta drill out the center after it cools of course...or before...

Then there's sprue marines, sprue plants, sprue (sign) posts, sprue barbed wire cross sections, sprue wall/floor/equipment lining/detailing, um, that's all I can think of.
