Vallejo paint chart

I am considering the purchase of Vallejo paints since there are so many colors. The only problem is the blending. I use the chart for blending that GW supplied (Via Fausts website)http://www.paintingclinic.com/clinic/guestarticles/gwpaintblendingchart.htm

My question: Does such a thing exist for Vallejo paints? Is it obvious? I just don\'t know. I would have to order them online and it is hard to tell what shades are what.

Hmmm. not to my knowledge..

I have not see anything like this for Vallejo colours, but then again they are very new on the market.

Chrispy is the expert in this area, perhaps he can help.

It depends. On the Vallejo Game Color line, the equivalents to the GW paints should be obvious for the most part due to the names (Hexed Lichen, Bone White, etc). Just substitute the proper equivalents and you\'re fine. For the Model Color line its a bit harder, but its still not that big a deal. If you look at the stuff on the site you mentioned, you basically have a dark X color, medium X color, light X color. eg a dark brown, medium brown, light brown. Now say you might have a group of reddish browns vs brown browns, but a little experimentation should help you out here. Unfortunately, color charts online aren\'t always accurate for you to be able to tell these things, so you might want to get your hands on a color chart for the Model Color line if you can (most places will send one with an order). This is one reason I am reluctant to buy the Model colors online, and have actually made all my purchases in person (had to wait until I went on vacation though since nowhere local has them). Anyways, I hope this helps...

Vallejo has something a bit like that on their tutorial page. You just have to scroll down to it, shouldn\'t miss it, its in the big orange brown box. For most colors, though you can figure it out by eye, but some colors don\'t have a defined highlight, so you\'ll have to mix.

That is a good start anyway. I\'ll just have to make one as I go along once I start buying them. I don\'t like doing things like this halfway so I\'d probably blow $200 to get the first 55. Save up (read plead with wife for okay) to buy the next 55, until I had all 220 colors. I did manage to get the Mega-Paint set by her and that in itself greatly improved my painting. More colors to choose from - more highlights available.

Well, I don\'t really intend to get all 220 colors, mostly because some of them are a bit too close. Plus, by the time I get my 200th bottle, bottles 1-10 will be almost gone..
