hey all, i got 2 paints from vallejo: jade green and smokey ink. my problem is that the jade green is more of an ink while the smokey ink is very thick, even after shaking it.
My other problem is that they both dry up glossy which i dont like. Is it just me or are these paints made for this?
thanks.

smokey ink. Right this is a glaze not a paint and works best over mettalics or use it to shadow Green (Ork/Orc) skin or to darken leather.

Hmm... never would have thought to use the smokey ink for orc flesh. I\'ll give this a shot. Cool!

Do you use it seperately and apply it to shadows or do you mix it with the base color? I\'ll give both a shot.

Thanks Dragonsreach, but why don\'t they make smokey ink as watered as jade green? because it really looks like a turt when it comes out of the bottle:p

Vallejo Smoke is not something that seems to work as a mix, It\'s best as a wash either general over the whole area/figure or targetted into the shadow areas.

A Luna: I can\'t answer that question. All I know is that they are completely different types of paints.

Thanks Mike. I\'ll play around with this a little tonight I hope!

A Luna: Sounds like maybe your paint froze? Something anyway. I\'m using Vallejo stuff almost exclusively now and My smokey ink is very fluid, like any other ink, and the game color paints are just like any other paints. Could something have happened to them?

@Scottradom:
I think not, or atleast I can\'t remember. I might have bought an odd bottle or something. I\'ll just thin it down and get my hands on the matte paint.
Thanks:)

I paint my thumb.
Smokey ink has an odd consistency and it\'s true it\'s pretty hard to mix.
I use it for aged/weathered metals also and it works fine.
The Vallejo game colors as a whole, seem to vary a lot in texture and consistency, you have to get use tio that and I guess some people see that as a drawback.
