Hi Simon,

If you could post some extra pictures that are close ups and a little bigger it will be easier to judge what you can improve. In the pictures I believe that I would have made the skeletons less "Clean" not that white and deaper range in the shading to the highlights. If you post more pictures when I can give more suggestions.

I think the blue is working against you here. Are they suppose to be in icy water? If so then the green grass may be better if it was more dead like a winter scene and you may need a muddy transition between the water and the grass.
I can't see how well they are painted from the photo so I didn't vote, but I do like how you positioned them.

The unit looks coherent and has good detail. I l ike it overall and if you do your whole army with that level I think it will turn out great

Nice work, there really isn't a lot that needs improving.

You might want to take the highlights a bit further on the wood. You could use snakebite leather, khemri brown, komando kakhi and perhaps some green washes, trying to emulate a natural wood effect to get another level of detail.

You have got a good transition on the white side of the minis. It's not always easy to get that effect.

Maybe, I do not know for sure, you should use swampy or Sylvanian muddy ground (think cart tracks.) From what it ooks it's all stone! A bit difficult to crawl out of. Anyway if you saw and played Ultima 8 that's ok. In there, there are stony graves, crypt & mausoleum style. Elsewise good basing but needs woods, leaves for example. Did you want to put the bases inside a prepared GW movement tray ?

Your wood on shields looks damp (see swampy above) which is good.

Anyway try to steer clear of simple color schemes and contrast rust and wood for undead together with some greens.

MS.

PS:
If you do not find enough about undead try to find the skeleton painting article of WHFB rulebook or bestiary, I don't remember, 4th edition, sharing sites could offer it. There's things in there like orange wash on bestial brown for rust. Your rust effects seem to be missing.
