Vanishing my GD winner!

Hey everyone! In a few days time I will be off for Nottingham and the GW HQ tour! Still, I have not varnished my mini. The paint keeps chipping(repainting a few parts), and it is driving me nuts. Anyway, I thought I\'d better varnish it with matt varnish, but how? I have a gw can, but I\'m afraid it will go all dusty, and this beeing my finest model, I don\'t want that to happen. I was thinking of using the new paint-on matt varnish from GW. Is it any good?

Thanks for all the help

Torstein:)

DONT use GW spray on stuff. It does bad things to metals. I use Tamia smoke watered down but Ardcoat watered down is the same (Except for the black stuff in it). If you water it down you get a semi gloss that doesnt look too bad. You could then use Dullcoat to make it matt.

I tried many many many matt spray but every mini shines. Some more, some less but you don\'t get an absolute matt result.
So I only spray minis I very often use for gameing (at the moment only my old Heroquest minis :D)

You could not even bother and just make a foam fotress out of say foam and keep it safe in there until it is time to unleash it.

paint chips cause something cips it, now you can either toughen up the paint as you suggest, ot get rid of the thing thats chipping it. Personaly i dont varnish, i just take real good care of my models. I suggest you find a box the right size, then buy some foam and cut out a little whole for it that will fit it and not allow it to shake around. Then only take it out when you want to show off, and eve then only hold the base, and dont let anyone else hold it unless they are going to abide by that rule also.
