That's a good start. Since this is a wet cave you'll want to create some mud or standing water for the floor of it.

Yep the gravel is supposed to be the bed of the pool and the cork rock a wee island and the stalagmites stick up out of the water. The water will be less than a cm deep so thinking of just using the GW water effects, hmm seem to remember some were that you could use pva glue for thin water effects don't know if it will dry clear enough though.

is the GW water effects thick or water thin? I would think PVA glue would be too milky once dried.

Then I would use the GW water effects since it is thick and will stay in place. I look forward to seeing the new pics.

Yeah, he's looking great on a sweet base. the pics are a bit dark but I think I spy some green on those rocks. If I do that is perfect if not it needs green to add to the wetness of the scene. Look at your figure real close and see if all of the highlites are uniform allover him including the highest parts. From the pics this appears to be the case. If it is, the highest points (shoulders, eyes, ears nose) basically anything exposed to light more should be lighter. Just filter on another highlite and it will take it to the next level. Man he is really looking good my man.

GreenOne

I paint my thumb.
Looking real good.
I think the furry areas would stand out more if they were a bit different color than the 'skinny' ones, simple glazes would do the trick. Something subtle tho, the scheme is pretty nice as it is.

You could consider downsizing the pis a bit, would make browsing the thread a lot easier :)

yeah bit dark tried to sort it out camera keeps selecting the wrong setting should be on tungsten light as my natural light bulb gone pop. Any way heres a couple with the levels adjusted a bit to give you a better impression of the colours on the rocks and the highlites. Will have a go making the highlites brighter on the top surfaces and the hair stand out more and gonna have a go at the cobwebs. Also not happy with the stalagmite thinking of removing it what do you think? Any way cheers for looking and commenting

This is the end my freind .......well nearly just the water effects to go

Ok I know its getting a bit pic heavy but just about finished now apart from the water effects and I am waiting on them to arrive maybe a couple of days. Just done the cobwebs and Highlited the raised areas a bit more along with the hair and Skuuulllsss (a sop to all you Khorne freaks out there!). Any way kind of sad realy that its coming to an end. If you can see anything else needs doing then let me know otherwise its water effects in a couple of days and then post it up to be voted on. Cheers to everyone who has contributed or looked!! Oh made them a bit smaller to help you browse Green one.

He really does look good. I like him a lot and he has a little glow about him that is important. Did you try the cobweb idea we discussed? I was curious to know if it worked or not. Can't wait to see him with the water in place.

Are you using him for gaming or just display?

Hi Milosh thanks for the nice comment. The cobweb idea with a slight variation got the wife's cotton wipes and very gently teased appart until almost single threads then varnished on and teased it out with a fine brush and ran satin varnish along the threads had the nice effect of making it look a little wet. Yeah the water will be cool and a first for me, one of the good things about the WIP forum is the encouragement to try new ideas.

Nearly always use my figures for gaming avid 3.5 and 3.75 d&d player (hate 4th just world of war craft on a board!) he's gonna be a natural lycanthrope werewolf lord stone giant with 6 levels of cleric a proper TPK hopefully MUHAHAHA.. cough sorry got carried away there.

I like how they turned out and may have to borrow it on something in the future. I've never gamed before but I can imagine this figure will produce much jealousy amongst your mates. You're going to have to do something on a full display base one of these days.
