Varnish and the UK...

This is a UK specific request...

Which varnish do you chaps use, that is readily available in the UK? Which, in your opinion, gives the flattest and mattest finish. I still use GW stuff but I\'d really prefer my final coat to be as matt as can be :)

Well, I\'m not in the UK, but I use Windsor & Newton Acrylic Matt Varnish (and I know you can get it in the UK). It\'s a brush on varnish, but it really is matt. I quite like it :)

i\'ve been starting with a few gw layers and when dry adding a layer of cryla asoluble matt varnish for acrylics. i have found in the past it gives a nice , flat surfact. although lately, ive been having bad results - looks as if the models hasn\'t dried or has been dipped in oil. it\'s paint on and not that expensive so you can give it a try. hmmm maybe i haven\'t been shaking it enough?

ok i don\'t like having to add a post after another one of mine but, my reply got my to thinking and i tried again and *really* shook it up and wow lovely and matt, i would seriously recommend it. but dont put it on too soon after gw coats coz i did that to an artemis conversion that took me ages to do and the gw clouded and crackled:mad:
