varnish mixing

Just a simple question: If I mix matt and gloss varnish, do I get a satin shine? I need a kind of slight shine, but not gloss.

Hmmm.I would assume so.Add the gloss to the matt though as I dont think it will take much to satin it.

it should work but i would imagine it would be best to use the same make of varnish so you are less likely to get and random effects. try it on a test piece - that way you won\'t screw up that piece it took you x amount of time to paint (i did that once. i won\'t repeat what i said!)
