Verocithrax

I\'ve just gotten Verocithrax from Reaper. There are some suggestions for how to paint the figure on the box, but I\'m not real keen on it. Anyone have some ideas?

Well, I was going to be a smart ass and make my usual purple and lime green suggestion, but just to be on the safe side I looked at the figure over on Reaper\'s site, and apparently thier painters have been reading my posts or stealing into my nightmares or something cause he\'s almost in that color scheme.

I would seriously consider a Red/Black scheme for this one after looking at the figure. Red for the main body - black for the underbelly and wings -

I had pretty much the same idea as steelcult, but reversed. I\'d go with black scales and a red underbelly. The tale that they weave on the store site does fit with a dark, vengeful colorscheme. I\'ve also never painted a dragon before, so take mine with a grain of salt.

Try searching online for lizard or snake pics as they might give you some inspiration. Basically lighter colour on the belly seems to be more natural looking than a darker colour.

Leathery browns are seen on a lot of \'real life\' reptiles, but rarely used on minis. Maybe you could give them a go

Thanks, all

Kit: The pictures of the dragons were great. I really liked Tiamat.

I think I like the idea of red and black. Probably go with red underbelly, since the underbelly is usually lighter.

I might try the suggestion of brownish hues, but probably on something smaller. I have a hill dragon I\'m assembling. Browns sound like something that would be good on a hill dragon.
