Hi guys,

It's kinda hard to get comments directly from cmon's site so I thought maybe posting in the forums would help.

Anyways, I'm pretty new to the forums so by way of introduction I give you my version of Verthandi Burning Ice. Of course, not quite as stunning as most others I've seen, thus I post it here in hopes of finding ways to improve.

Cheers!

Man, you put a ton of work into that one! My biggest critique would be that the flesh seems a bit flat. I think more contrast would help make her skin pop out a bit more. The gore maybe a bit overdone. While it may be more realistic, it overwhelms the rest of your good work. A little gore goes a long way. The base is really nice, and I love that red hair!

Thanks freakinacage!

Supervike: I get comments about my skin a lot and I know it is an area that I need to be more adventurous on. I always worry about ruining the skin thus I tend to play it safe. I made a test of higher contrast with the hair, at first I didn't like. But when the photos came up it looked quite nice, that's why the hair has higher contrast than the skin.. So lesson learned.

As for the blood, I agree... as when I first applied it, I made a mistake by where the brush held too much clear paint and I was too slow in removing the excess, so I had to cover it up... with more thicker blood.

Biggest pain for me was the monster head... if anyone knew where I got it from they would know it is just made up of muscles and no skin, so I made the skin for it and ripped it apart to show how Verthandi cut and chopped it up.

I actually like the gore. I don't think it's too much. The skin is a bit flat, but the Terrorgheist head is a nice touch.

I love it. I've always wanted to play with that much gore, but been afraid. I'm just learning to do skin and found it helps to lay down some blue greys, purples and browns after you basecoat in shadowed areas then you can blend up from there and the skin gets some depth. Again, I am just starting to work on my first mini that has a ton of skin showing so ya know, add salt to my advice;)

I love it. My only critique would have been to go darker with the clothing cause they seem to blend in with the skin. I am actually painting this kit as we speak so I may steal some of your ideas!!!
