Ooooo, tasty indeed. I can\'t wait to see what happens when a top-shelf guitarist like this gets ahold of one of those Moog guitars. I don\'t think trippy would begin to describe it.

Yeh man, Satriani taught some of the greats and knows how to not only get an awsome tone but doesn\'t over do solos etc.

Satriani is probably my favorite guitarist. I like Ten Words, Searching, Crushing Day, and Summer Song the most.

Not a fan of big wan*y solos myself, but there\'s no denying that Satriani has some hardcore skill! That\'s a name that\'s been whispered about adolecent wanabes for some time with various musicians and jam partners who have learned from him down the line, added in as pupils of his. One of which I believe was one, Kirk Hammet!
Incredible musician, yes he is.
In fact I do remember watching a clip my mate dave had (Ah everyone\'s got a mate called dave). It was Satriani playing a few hot licks and YOU COULD LEARN IT TOO! They even slowed it down so you could follow what he was doing...Still couldn\'t fu**ing follow it...
At that point me and Dave decided we would never sell our souls in case Satriani was the devil and by winning them back we had to play a stupid memory game, whereupon we had to follow his solo...

Satch also taught Steve Vai while they were in high school together. Vai\'s stuff tends to be a little too strange for my taste (mostly squeaks and odd sounds) but For the Love of God, Tender Surrender, and a few of his other songs are just genius.

@Beelzebrush - That\'s great stuff. So I hear, during a concert to poke fun at the whole speed metal thing he had a cordless drill with a bunch of picks on it and was zooming up and down the fret board. The thing got hung up in his hair and quickly rolled itself up all the way to his scalp. He messed with it and couldn\'t get it loose. A roadie came out, put the drill in reverse and ZIPPPP it unwinds........then REwinds in the other direction!!
@ mattsterbenz - Never heard of the fellow Steffen Schackinger but WOW, what clean soulful playing.

On the topic of strange instraments; Can anyone remember the name of a metal band that took their name for an instrament they made using industrial cable?! This reminded me of it, and now it\'s doing my head in trying to remember!!!
