Maybe I'll get some flaming for this, but I think the GW-Book "painting miniatures"(with the DVD) is a great book.
I think it's a collection of White Dwarf articles. As I don't buy these magazines I don't regret getting the book. I really like to have a book at my painting table as a reference. Or to get a clue on the how to do, before taking up a brush.
Maybe some others know more good books for beginners/intermediate painters?
