Hello,
Ive posted a few times but I have never posted a mini for rating, and this is the first one i feel worthy (since there are so many amazing painters here). So here it is:

I tried a different way to blend (and used primarily vallejo and some GW paint) Anyways I am fairly happy with how this mini turned out, though I know I could use a lot more improvement.

Comments and criticisms would be very helpful (but be gentle I’m new). Thanks for looking

Not bad buddy - but if it\'s finished this should be posted in the \"Discuss submissions\" board rather than here.

If you have work that\'s not finished and you want some opinions, then post in the Works in Progress board :)

Welcome to CMoN and congrats on your rather good! first post :D

great first piece..... the blue levels are a bit high... i would reccomend changing the color levels to get rid of the blueish hue in the background.

it should improve your scores as well.

btw the battle damage is spot on..

1 : Welcome to the forums

2: I\'ve tweaked the colour levels a bit for you so that others can see what the REAL end result was like

3: Moved the thread to the Discuss Submissions forum.

Looking good overall. But when doing scratches try to be a bit more random and also think about which places would get the most wear and tear.. like edges and so. I think the blue colour is very interesting, good job on that one!

Try another whitebalance setting on your camera.

wow that does make a big difference in the picture. Also since Im pretty much have no idea what im doing with my camera does anyone know what white setting it should be on so it doesnt look so washed out in blue?
Also thank you for the comments, I was nervous no one would leave any, now Im definitely gonna post my next mini.

What kind of lights are you using? Your camera probably has a setting for different kinds of lighting situations (incandescent, fluorescent, etc.), so check to make sure that you have it on the right setting.

Also depending on what kind of camera you have, you might have a way to set the white balance instead of having the camera do it for you automatically. Check the user\'s manual and see what your options are.

The mini is pretty decent.

I gave you a 9 for having one of the best usernames I\'ve seen lately. It would\'ve been a 10 if you hadn\'t added the \'s\'....

Thats a great mini and not deserving 7.6. to remedy this sort your photo\'s out as people vote on what they see.
If you need some help with your photo\'s i\'m happy to help you.
Lovely job, and love to see more, i gave you a 10 to help with your score:Das I can see the quality;)

Haha thanks spacemunkie, Ive been using this name for so long and no ones ever given it a compliment like that.

krom1415 I just cant ever seem to get the right lighting (my camera isnt that great but its not terrible). I really dont have any money to spend on fancy equipment since im a jobless college student. I did download GIMP but It would be nice to figure out a good way to light my mini and not have to rely solely on a touch up program. Any suggestions?

Try desk lamps at homebase about £4 plus prolite 150w daylight bulbs, there low energy ones, A4 white, or if your posh and coloured graduated paper curved background.
Close focus and manual settings on camera prefered, the are some tutorials in the article section I\'m sure, best of luck
