Anyway, at this point it looks like you might have to get used to saying \"President Obama\". Don\'t feel bad about it, own it. Just think, you can blame everything on him for four whole years :) What\'s the worst that can happen? He\'d only be the President. Despite George W. Bush\'s best efforts, the President is not an absolute monarch. The putative \"President Obama\" is not going to be able to fly planeloads of Islamic jihad warriors into Peoria to rape everyone\'s daughters, even if he IS as terrible as you claim.

I haven\'t claimed anything, nor have I disclosed who I voted for, and I certainly didn\'t claim him a terrorist, but I don\'t deny his associations, and I certainly wouldn\'t hold those same associations.

I said it a long time ago, these are the two least qualified candidates running for this office in a long time. While I didstrust Obama, I\'ve disliked McCain for nearly a decade now, and neither of them accurately represent me. No matter who I voted for, I was settling.

That\'s the thing, pretty much all of the states are still out, until 100% of the votes are counted, or a majority is reached in which the rest of the votes would not matter.

good point about the news NSA.
I saw them call a state for McCain tonight with 1% reporting, and McCain trailing with only 44%!

Of course. All the \'early results\' are pretty much based on exit polling. That\'s why the last couple of elections have been such a disaster with them predicting wins and such before the actual votes were, y\'know, actually counted.

THis is by far not exact science, but usually if you have exit polls with 15% margin they consider it a safe bet. The idea is that your difference should be more then 3 margins of error. Margin of error is usually 4-4.75%.

Most major news outlets had these exist polls since 5 PM (according to what I\'ve heard on NPR) but they are not allowed to report them till 7-8 pm. By that time they can actually correlate exit poll numbers with real poll numbers.

But this assumes that people tell the truth, and that they are picking an accurate sample.
People can lie, but the voting numbers don\'t, they are what they are.

It\'s been a long day, aand I\'ve got foam to carve and lead to paint...

first obama wins in some \"red\" states everyone agreed he could never win , than they say that texas is \" to close to call \", that in texas ( sorry but i really can´t believe that.. ) Obama was head on head with McCain ...in texas.


and now obama is president with a landslide victory :beer:

congratulations and let me just say , the speech McCain delievered at the end of the evening was great and shows that he´s not a sour loser


i´m just asking myself if obama will be so happy to be president when he sees what he will have to deal with lol

Still Governor.
Funny, Biden won his Senate seat tonight as well. I suppose he\'ll have to resign, and they\'ll have to pay for another election.
