Victor Hardy?

Hello friends,

i was looking through Mr Hardys pictures and an article by him and was wandering if any body knows if he has his own website with articles or indeed still paints? I ask because in the text below his \"Golgotha\" model he said he would write and article or tutorial about how he went about painting it and i was interested to read it. His work is so inspiring and really makes you \" feel\" the model but i havent locate any other pieces of his work, he appears to have stopped painting a few years ago :(

Thanks, El Matador

Thanks Freakinacage,

I have to say it surpised me the reaction to the mini. I thought it was brilliant, yet some people seemed to react to it with hatred and aseemed to attack it and Victor at some places, i felt really sorry for him.

Do you know of he still paints or wrote that article?

Thanks, El Matador

tbh i have no idea. i only got that from a google search.

i find the reaction to it ridiculous. it\'s an incredible piece of work and shows a tremendous amount of skill and effort (that said, i ain\'t a fan as i find it too busy and agree that the artwork doesn\'t really fit in with 40k).

try googling him and you may find some more info

I was behind the desk when the bugger got disqualified.. I have to say I thouht it was an amazing piece of technical skill but wasn\'t a fan of the whole..

I can remember a very heated argument between John Blanche (I believe) who was arguing with someone on the judging panel or somebody on there saying taht the art department is driving for gothic the big word in the dept is gothic and this is F%$king gothic....something along those lines and was funny..

I agree that\'s it\'s technically well painted but I also agree I find it a little busy. My main problem is with the fact the banner seems to draw your eye away from the mini itself, being a large flat area. It unbalances the composition.

Ya that mini is rediculously awesome. It should have won Slayer Sword in US when it was entered. It should also not have been DQ\'d in Europe because of the iconography... oh well.

He said that it took him over 2 years to paint that mini because of the conversion and freehand work. Maybe he is working on another insane project that he may be revealing soon? We can only hope. :]

as much as i hate to open a can of worms but it just doesn\'t fit in with gw fluff, like female space marines. i\'m not suprised it was dq\'d tbh. if it were on a loyal piece, one could argue that the woman was a saint but as chaos i feel it just doesn\'t fit. i wouldn\'t say it\'s bad because it uses religious iconography as gw uses plenty but you just have to know what stuff to use. rules is rules.
