I just realized the gem in the belt wasnt / =(painted in. I will have to fix that.:redface:
Good stuff. You\'re getting some very good advice as you go, have a natural talent, or some sort of experience in other painting styles I\'m guessing. Perhaps a combination of all three.
In all it\'s a groovy job with a very decent base to set it off. For improvement the skin looks like it could be taken up a notch or two with some more highlights to really make it pop. The NMM is certainly on the way and the blue tones in the scale mail add interest. Perhaps some extra definition on the sharp edges of his blade would make it more realistic looking.

When I was younger (13-15) I tried painting scale models..but gave up during high school and then college.. just recently I moved to Florida and went into a comic book store and saw some painted minis..I was hooked.
I try to spend more time on one figure then painting as fast as I can and trying to post multiple figures..
I literally dunked this figure in pine-sol about 7 times.trying 3 different prime coats, and 3 different skin tones..
Tonight Im starting on my next figure.. hopefully it will be done next week!

its very good for your first mini. i think some areas could use deeper shading, but thats just my style talking i guess.
