Visualising my Mini WIP

Hi all....

I\'m in the middle of painting Sebastian from the Hasslefree range. Quite often, when I\'m painting a mini, I like to photograph it a various stages and see if it works as I can see it in a larger version. With this one, I wanted to see if the light source effect was believable. I photographed it against the standard graduated-blue background and it looked sort of okay... but the colour wasn\'t right, so I changed it to black/grey... the effect looked fine this time but he looked like he was floating in space.... so, as I have a little time on my hands today (ahem!) I decided it would be fun to put him onto a background... Luckily I had a few concept sketches stored on my PC that I\'d done a while back.... so I just erased the original character and pasted my mini onto it.

This was really done for fun... but I realised that if I was to draw a background which would match the diorama type base I have planned, this could be invaluable....

Anyway, here\'s the result of the quickly cobbled-together experiment so far....

The mini is quite a way from being finished at the moment

Source lighting effect is looking very good on the background !

Excellent timing! I\'m about to start painting the background to a similar project
- I think it looks good - useful to do this I think to get a feel for it; as it stands though there seems too much illumination on the floor directly below the torch
