Vostroyan\'s

Well its GW metal price rise on monday so i need to order some of the kits that are going up alot tomorrow.

I quite like Vostroyan\'s as a guard regiment, very few people play them and the models are very detailed. I already have about 40 so i\'m thinking of order 2-3 £20 10 man sets before they go upto £25.

What are people\'s thoughts on Vostroyan\'s.

Should i wait for the GW plastics to come out with the next imperial guard codex (rumour to be plastic great coats) but then everyone will be using those.

Should i go with forgeworld Death Korp (although their twice the price of Vostroyan\'s) or Cadian\'s (roughly half the price of Vostroyans)

From a painting point of view i think Voystroyans have the most scope for really nice mini\'s (i.e. alot of brass and detail on the models) although seeing what squig is doing with Cadians is impressive.

I like the Cadians, and I REALLY like the Kasrkin. They look like soldiers, and good ones at that. The fancy-shmancy uniforms I see on a lot of other regiments (like the Mordians) just looks silly (to me) on a war-torn, gothic battlefield.

I love the Vostroyans, I have probably 3000 points worth sitting in the closet of doom..I have sold off most of my other guard minis with the \"Intent\" on painting them.

i hate the vostroyans as a whole. the death korps are the best models i have seen imo. although i hate resin and the huge price. i can\'t wait to see the new plastics though

Can this love/ hate have any connection to the relation to Blanche?

I like them, some sculpts are a bit off but the concepts are spot on imo.

DKK are lovely too but there are so many of them done at the moment. Just got a FW order with some of them. The miniatures are beautiful and detailed, really nice casts overall. Just need to get some inspiration for them.

I think the models are excellent! I bought 2 platoon boxes when they first came out but all I have painted is my command. I planned on starting the army but I never bothered. But they are totally worth starting

I thought this thread might be about the Vostroyan army that\'s been \"Resting\" with Dragonsreach for 2 years instead of being sold for charity, as was the intention of all of the people that donated their time and money to apparently no effect. Or maybe it\'s been auctioned and I missed it, I hope that\'s the case.

Vostroyans - Crap versions of Valhallans :/

I too prefer the Cadians/Kaskrins

Also like the DKoK and the Steel legion

I do like SOME of the themed regiments too such as the ones I ALWAYS forget the names of that look like the British redcoats from ZULU

The zulu redcoats are the preatorians.

i dont mind the vostroyans they are a different to most guard and not seen much on the battlefield.

DKoK are the best looking guard but an army of them is just too expensive.

Go for the vostroyans tbh, cadians are common and DKoK are pricey. Vostroyans would be something a little more refreshing
