Hi all

I'm looking to get into Confrontation. I can't stand the PPP units, but I love the old metal/resin (?) models. Unfortunately the only place I can find to buy them is Ebay and Ludikbazar. Ludik has some good stuff but it's a bit pricey and not the best selection. Ebay has a terrible selection (if more varied) and everything is WAY overpriced.

So. I'm looking to build 4 ~200 pt warbands. I'd rather not spend much more than 85$. I'm just looking for 4 small groups that my gaming group and I can play to get into the game and try out some different factions. So I'm interested in anything anybody has to offer that is reasonably priced. I'd prefer unpainted (I don't care if it's NIB), and would prefer with the English card(s). Pre-painted is ok if the painting is of a good quality and the details aren't smudged-out (I paint for golden demon comps so...if I can't repaint it, I'd rather avoid it. I also suck at paint stripping lol.)

Right now I'm thinking off the top of my head:
Wolfen
Fang Warriors
Repentants
Sacred Vestal
Grave Guardian
Predator of Blood (please!)
Worg
Irix (please!)

Griffins
Fusiliers
Duelists
Templars
Purifier
Darkness Hunter
Priestess of Steel (So awesome!)
Mira (PLEASE!)
Misericord (please!)

Lions
Archers
Swordsmen
Valkyries (please!)
Reaper (lol almost mistyped 'raper')
Paladins (please!)
Pythia
Agent of the Chimera
Agonn
Danil

Cynwall
Selsym
Azure Hunters
Synchronime (please!)
Asadars
Maelyn
Khidarym
Nova (please!)
Nelphaell

Dirz
Clones
Pests
Dawn Warriors (please!)
Hybrids
Oriflamme (PLEASE!)
Sentinels
Keratis
Dirz Biopsist (PLEASE!)
Skorize Warrior (original, NOT the re-sculpt. Yuck.)
Sethin
Lady Claudia
Sasia (please!)

These are just the things that stuck out to me when I read through all the stat cards and from scanning sites like underthemountain.blog. I would take any good deal, obviously, and any of the other factions are fine too, as long as I can easily build 4 200-pt squads. Also note that I already have
Syriak, so one of the armies needs to be Wolfen (dont want to have wasted him, unless I get really good deals)

In Return:
I can pay with Paypal, and also have a 2nd ed. Dark Eldar army to trade. Two boxes of Cabalite Warriors, an Archon, 6 flesh-dog-thingys (can't remember the name), a jetbike, 6 Mandrakes, 5...uh...the lost Aspect, can't remember what they're called. Incubites! Or something. There might be another unit in there I just can't remember. I also have the 2nd ed codex for them. I listed this setup for 80 min on ebay so I'd want some equivalent trades.

Thanks in advance!

Mate, I just sent you a PM on this, but I've also done a thorough scan through e-Bay, and I have to admit I was wrong - there are a couple of sellers who are really knocking out exorbitant prices. If you want to avoid recasts, Dantes-guardian looks like the Aarklash Chronicles or Cadwallon seller.

I've also found a couple of bare metal Griffin Fusiliers, no cards, though. Folks on Dragonpainting should be able to help you download the cards.

If you're interested, please reply to my PM.

Thanks.

Thanks gohkm

Yeah most of the prices are crazy. Some aren't too bad, like the Mira, but the shipping makes it hard to swallow. 8$ for a little metal fig? yikes. What are they shipping it in, jade packing peanuts?

I replied to your PM.

Are you saying the Dantes-guardian guy is to be avoided? Or that he's good/legit?

Mate, let's take this off-line, shall we? We can toss things around via PM and I'll see if I can give you a hand in acquiring this stuff.

I saw your post on Dragonpainting and it is definitely a good place, there are a lot of people over there with a lot of Confrontation stuff.

I've been buying Rackham stuff off of eBay for many years now and I have to tell you, it comes in waves. Some times I'll go a year without buying anything because it all goes for too much, but them a few months will come by where I get a crap ton of stuff really cheap (like an average of $2-$5 a model). Make sure to watch everything "The White Worm" or the something Eye, maybe "Red Eye". I can't remember, but it's the same guy as the White Worm, just a different account. All of his Rackham stuff starts at $0.99 and doesn't always get bidded up too high.

The other suggestion depends on where you live. If you're in Europe, there are a fair amount of stores that still have their old Rackham inventory. I just found a store in Rome with boxes of old Rackham stuff for sale.

If you want to collect Rackham, you have to have constant vigilance, but it's worth it because the are the best minis ever made.

And no, I'm not willing to part with a single Rackham mini... sorry.

This.

Rackham's company line was "the most beautiful miniatures in the world".

They bloody achieved that. Even the older Ilyads would be hard matched to beat a good Rackham sculpt, I reckon.

I couldn't agree more. I have more than I could probably paint, but I just keep getting more because they are so amazing. And so fun to paint. I was painting a GW Dwarf army for a bit and then went back to Rackham, and was like, wow, I forgot how much fun these minis are to paint. The detail is amazing and the dimensionality is so perfect that it makes it so easy to highlight.

Thanks for the advice! I will keep that in mind.

I'll look up the eye guy ;) And unfortunately I'm in the US. Makes it a bit harder. But I will keep trawling ebay and such.

And haha, I wouldn't expect you too :) But I appreciate the help.
