Used SN7 mini & round
I have three SN7 - 000 & 00 min, & 00 round. I bought the normal from my local art store and the two minis from http://www.artsupplies.co.uk/special1.htm.
The name is kind of deceptive. They really aren\'t miniature brushes, they are spotters, as opposed to rounds. Think about it - spotters are made to make SPOTS. Very tiny dots of color. You can\'t really do much else with them, like paint big areas.
The rounds are for laying down controled amount of color. That\'s why most painters like the rounds more than the spotters.
I paint more with my round than my spotter. But I use the spotter for really fine stuff. You have to be VERY careful about the paint consistancy, though. Too thick and it will dry on your brush before you use it. Too thin and it glops right out and messes up what you are trying to paint.
Personnally, I think that when you get to the more expert methods of figure painting, it is basically watercolor painting on a three dimensional object. (Wish I had studied watercolor painting.)
That\'s why the WN S7 is so prized - it is the best watercolor brush in the world.
