just picked up my steyr mannlicher rifle (first rifle ive ever bought and only for 20$) and i must say... not quite what i expected but i love it! the wood is not as nice as i had hoped however all \"damage\" is natural and not from use! this peice truely has some stories i wish it could tell. its make truely i think represents a country struggling with battle and money. truely a peice of history and worth every penny i paid for it!

i wouldnt dare treat the wood. it looks nicely aged and very natural. (likes keeping things as close to original state as possible)

Had to look it up. Wikipedia says that gun was a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. It may not be the same company, either. Bit confusing on that and I\'m not a gun expert.

the rifle used to shoot JFK was infact an Italian Carcano rifle. Often called the Mannlicher-Carcano the Carcano is not a Mannlicher at all. Reson people call it the Mannlicher-Carcano is because it uses the Mannlicher styled magazine (charger clip is inserted into the magazine then drops out of the bottom when last round is ejected) The Carcano is infact made by a company called Paraviccini

For 20 bucks I\'d say it was a steal!
Steyr are a top quality arms manufacturer though, it\'s their rifle (the aug I think) Thats the mainstay of the german and austrian armies today!

Same bullpup design like the Enfield built SA80, but about 100% more reliable lol

How did you manage to find this for $20 ???
