not realy, it\'s a clean paint job but nothing special.
standard shop bought sculpt that people have seen a million times before, plain base that doesn\'t add to the story/scene.
about right actualy imo.
and at the end of the day, it\'s cool MINI or not, as well as each person being allowed their opinion on what score they believe it should be.
and your also falling into the trap of worshiping names and styles. (yes, adrren is a bleeding good painter, not questioning that one bit.) don\'t compare painters, look at the scene, the story, the over all impact of the base, the miniature and the paintwork. But don\'t compare it to some one elses work unless the two sculpts are the same, and then, it is still just an opinion.

It\'s at 7.8 and IMO, that\'s the upper end of where it should be. Not a bad piece.

for me personally it could be painted to the best standard in the world but it\'s still aGreatsword on a gaming base and nothing really make it a wow..moment.. score seems about right.

looks like a pretty bog standard nmm mini to me...
talented painters(the one\'s who make you say wow) are held to a high standard...
if we\'re gonna talk painters, guys like arjay, arkaal, crackpot, a few others who\'s names i would misspell right now, and all the rackham guys can do a more interesting nmm all day long...
it takes something really special just to get an 8 around here most of the time, and this has not got the wow factor...
it\'s solid work, with a solid score...

I agree with what is being said, the nmm on the armour is very nice, but some things do let it down,,
chain mail, needs to be slightly darker imo
blood, good, but too much methinks
some areas of the nmm could do with being a little darker too..
I think its about the right score atm.

OK, I see all of your points but I still think that it is a 9ish paint job.... Anyway, it might just be that I have weird taste .

The whole thing is subjective in any case.
As we are all individuals our tastes are all different, personally I\'m agreeing with the majority of comments in this thread and think it\'s about right.
