Hi Y'all.
Finally a new submission! Here's a rank-and-file orc I tried to paint at my best, with all the rustiness and messiness that's to be expected from me after a 7 months slumber.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it, happy I completed it, and that I'm back for more painting.
Already got two other pieces in the making, so expect more, and better, from me in the beginning of the new year...

ork is great....love it...but i dont like the brown paint on the sides of the base. call it a personal choice. the base isfine except for that part. 8.4

Agreed on the base side, I taught I did cover them, but I noticed that it was still brown after all the pics were taken, just call it laziness...

really smooth. i like the blades a lot. model doesn't deserve the paint, though. pick a more interesting model, and im sure you could "wow" us.

I definitely agree with you funny, in fact I got the 'why bother' syndrome many times in the process, when things weren't going nicely, he almost never got finished. But then I thought any practice is good practice.

Yeah, I tried my best to fix that, trying to perfect my shopping. I still like the montage better than superposed images.

Nice orc Greenone! I always fine orcs and goblins fun to paint as a way to "warmup" since they're a bit more forgiving. I agree about the paint on the base and think you should clean that up a bit but otherwise looks like you did a great job.

For the blurry edges, I think you're feathering your selection? Try making your selection of your original picture and feathering that by about 2-3 pixels. Then reducing the picture to the final size should reduce the amount of blur but still keep your edges smooth.

I do contract and feather the selection, usually by 1 or 2 pixel, and after I copied in a layer I try to clean up the blurry part, but I can miss a few. I think if I did all that before resizing to 600 pixel would help though, thanks for the trick!
