WAAAAAGH! My first attempt at an Ork.

Sorry, folks, this isn\'t a proper WIP post (hence it not going into the WIP thread). Just wanted to get some ideas. I bought a Mega-Armoured Ork for my little brother\'s fledgling Ork army (he needs a Warboss, I figured what the hell). I\'m painting it up and then handing it off to him. Anyway, what colours do you find work well for the Mega-Armour itself? I\'m fairly clear on how to do Orky flesh and have all the colours for that, but I\'m unsure what to do with the mechanical bits. I\'m leaning towards a Kommando Khaki(GW)-based scheme, with red to distinguish him as a Blood Axe, but I might go mostly red with black bits. What\'re your thoughts? I\'ve never painted an Ork before and thought I\'d get input from the vets.

I\'ve painted some orks before but unfortunately I have no idea what you are talking about.
Any pics?

Not much on the game fluff myself, but wouldn\'t orc armor be red to go faster or black to be cool? also, probably a bit bashed and battle damaged?

I seem to have fallen victim to Useless Thread Syndrome. Any mods, feel free to lock this, it\'s rather pointless (\'specially since I\'ve now started the Ork in question and can put him in the WIP thread).

Levdir, we are a lazy lot. Generally threads don\'t get locked unless someone becomes very vulgar. Old threads just fade away for later searches.

BUT - if you truely feel that way, you can (as the originator of the thread) delete the entire thread. This also happens very rarely here.
