Wanting to print a 3D Demogorogon

Hi everyone,

I have long searched for a really good Demogorgon, but no-one had one I liked.
This is a picture of the perfect Demogorgon:

I would get him built to about 12-15 cm height.

I can get him sculpted in 3D, but it may cost a fair bit, I was wondering if enough people are interested, we could all chip in, and reduce the cost, then the unit price becomes more manageable.
Here is the person who has offered me to do this for around the $300 mark.

If I get 10 people interested, then the unit cost including printing would be around the $50 mark.

Can I get a show of hands (by way of reply) if anyone is SERIOUSLY interested in getting this guy created... serious enough to drop in a deposit.

UPDATE:
First, thanks for the advice guys.
Second, I have the Reaper demogorogon, and I don't like it. The necks are too short, and the baboon heads don't really work for me.
Thirdly, I don't like the troll forge effort either...

Can we get any interest?

Unless you can post some examples of what the artist you want to commision (and his printer!) is capable of you won`t get much serious replies. As Einion said, 350 $ is really cheap and still you are looking for "more reasonable" prices? That sounds odd imho. I don`t want to put you off, but people here on this site have very high quality standards and are unlikely to embark on any endeavour where quality cannot be judged beforehand.

Best regards, Alex

That is cheap to a level where I'd be concerned about quality to be honest. Didital sculpting costs in the $20-$40 an hour sort of range for most folks I've approached about it. Over $1,000 for a single mini is basically the norm including breaking it down to parts. This looks larger in scale do could cost more. Also, printing a single 28mm mini with a layer thickness that carries all detail and quality at the small scale is at least $40. Bigger beasts $200+ I've looked into and consulted with folks pretty in the know on this about printing on a bigger run to avoid casting and its not feasible without a huge price hike above standard models. It sounds a bit like you are intending to do this and its really not possible at the sort of price you are estimating. Good luck of course, but be prepared to pay more rather than less to get what you are after.

I looked at this picture and see Belakor's body, Dire Wolf heads and Watcher in the Water tentacles.
Is that combination beyond your conversion skills?

You suggest that because you can identify parts of the image, that somehow makes creating a printable 3D image from scratch easier???

How??

No I'm suggesting that because I see in that picture parts of the figure which are still available from GW, that with cutting, pinning and greenstuff you had the possibility to construct one.
