A link for convenience.

Regarding the Sebeki Champ. There are more pics on the Wargods Site as well. I have criticisms regarding the figure and while your paint job is well done, it could have been used to improved improve the presentation of the sculpt immensely.

I think that if you look at these photo references of real crocodilians you will see what I mean. The figure just doesn\'t seem to convey scaley to me and I think that the dorsal spines are far over emphasized. The jaw is also a problem area. While the photo you have posted here doesn\'t show it, the figure has a distinct curve to the lower jaw. I also dislike the chains. They gave me an immediate impression that this was a GW conversion, even though I know it is not. It has been pointed out to me that the figure does look alot like the Crocodile Games logo (seen further down the news page) and in this respect I suppose it\'s good enough, though a weapon like the mace their mascot has would certainly have made the entire figure a little bit cooler.

As I said, your part was well done. The only thing I think that you might have done better is to use more natural colors and to apply them in a motelled patern similar to that found on real crocs.

Sorry about the little rant. I was hoping for something a more grand out of the Sebeki line and I have a tendency to be over critical.

I looked your minis over and am quite impressed. I gave 7 and 8\'s on most. Your painting was well done.

A few things that would make them even better would be to take little more time on your bases.
I had a personal issue seeing grass on some, and large gritted sand on all. My vision of these creatures would be that they are Desert dwellers, and as such, the sand would have been of an extremely fine grit. There wouldl definitely have been no vegetation. And while that may seem a small criticism, and possibly a personal taste, I think it might be a popular opinion and , your minis might suffer a few points due to this.
I agree with Impernouncable that while done very nicely , the Sebeki Champion could have had more detail. I would not have used drybrushing as much or would have been more selective with it.

I was very impressed with the skin colors you chose on your Asar army, but found the color scheme to be a tad monochromatic and monotonous. A bit of a color breakup somewhere (blues or reds) would have gone quite far to break the monochrome feel of these models.
The shields were exquisite however. I particularly loved the leopard pattern on your Kemru Harbinger. :D

Your Heru sage was, I think, your best work posted here. Good use of color, and well blended. I do question why you posted it twice however. ???

Thanks for the feed back so far. The Sebeki was done using croc pics for reference but I didn\'t want the model to look exactly like a croc and used more green than is realistic. In other words, to look like the paintings/logo. The models will have detail sculpted on so it will be easier to reflect the desired texture. (this is pre-release)

The Asars contrasting color is red and although only visible on the Hero, the rest of my army has it. Again, Iwent for a Khushite theme and not necesarily egyption.

The Grass on the bases reflects the grasses and brush found in the deserts of egypt. Although maybe a little more spread out than I have portrayed, it does grow out there. One could argue that since the Borderlands are adjascent to Stygia, grasses are more abundant. Especially in the case of the Khemru, who live on the Nile.

The Battle-Sage should have only appeared once, and when I deleted the extra one, both dissapeared! I\'ll have to repost him.

Again, thanks so far

Really nice painting..

I have just looked through your minis and think you have done a fine job. Like Lurch, I awarded everyone either a 7 or 8. I disagree with Lurch\'s comments about the bases however. I thought basing was a strongpoint, from a gaming point of view showing good consistency. From my experience of deserts, coarse grain is OK and so is vegetation.

My only real negative point may have something to do with impernouncable\'s comments. Personally I found the sculpts totally uninspiring. I know it\'s \'horses for courses\' and all that, but I would personally never want to buy one of these figures to paint myself. This is not a criticism of you Eric, far from it. I think you have done a wonderful job with some fairly mediocre sculpts.
