It\'s like an MMO gold rush. Remember when Everquest had about 300,000 members and everyone thought they were the 800 lbs. gorilla?

I played Anarchy Online a little, and I have a hard time seeing 40k work as an MMORPG. In a scifi game, the guns need to be nerfed so that you\'re not just a sniper picking things off at distance (which would get boring in a hurry, I\'m sure.) If it was more like Planetside.... maybe. I dunno. They have their work cut out for them if they are going to make it interesting to use guns and not just feel like a Battlefield mod.

I never thought I would be more excited for a game then I was for Warhammer Online, but now I am :D

Thank you for the link!

How the heck are they gonna manage a MMOG set in a universe where most individuals have to pledge slavish fealty to a greater power of some sort (The Emperor, Chaos, the Greater Good) in order to survive? Not everyone can be Cypher. Even the Star Wars universe, full of toiling peons as it is, allows greater freedom for individuals to muck around on their own.

I LOVE MINIS! AND TABLETOP GAMES....

Tabletop games where you play in front of a real human being...
It\'s the same thing I said when they announced warhammer online, some games/strories are well adapted for tabletop gaming, some are created for computers...
Why mix... and THQ are drones, they won\'t even be able to make this stand out from other mmogs.
Which one will the kids will choose betweeen the new kick ass graphic game or the old, obsolete table top game?

In the long run I only see this as another crippling blow to the hobby and tabletop gaming... and creativity at the same time.

lol That reminded me of something someone wrote about the idea of an MMO based on Lord of the Rings. They said that nothing could ruin the Tolkein flavor like \"50 Frodos camping the Ring spawn.\"

You hit the nail on the head NSA. Nobody wants to play the janitor of the starship.
