Warhammer chaos furies - miniature suggestions?

Has anyone else noticed what awful miniatures the Warhammer chaos furies are?

http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=Odd&odd=NewLayout&_do=List_Models&code=5109&game=2&database=23&c=5109

I\'m collecting a chaos army and really need some of these, can anyone suggest any other models that can be used (warhammer, rackham, anything)? They need to fit a small slotta-base, have wings, and look somewhat demonic.

Thanks,

Paul S.

I wouldnt use them.

They\'re terrible models, and not all that great rules wise either, I\'d try out some of the other daemons belonging to the 4 gods.

Well, I\'m planning on playing undivided and rules wise they\'re supposedly excellent. A lot of tournament players use them anyway. I found this miniature which would work perfectly, if only the guy had sculpted 9 more variants :(

oh no! those minis are even more painfully bad! I\'d check out the dark age stuff, though I dont know about scale.

If you want to keep them in \"GW legality\" on the odd chance you\'d like to use them at a tourny there are the older harpies you can still get via mail-order which are kinda cool.. and much better looking.

You can also slap wings on a daemonette which would be really cool.. or come up with some really twisted mutations of warriors who have sprouted wings.

Reaper has some killer winged nasties too, and although they aren\'t made for slotta bases if you take an unslotted square base you can flip it over, drop the figure in and base it up, and it looks good. You can also mount it on a square base right side up and simply texture it up, or simply flock it. The tiny bit of extra hight makes the base slighly more dramatic.

You could convert some kroothounds like I did by adding old style harpy wings- there is a tutorial on my website and pics of the completed hounds in my gallery. They might work as chaos harpies...

Kroot Hounds would be my first choice here as well but alternatly you could use Dark Eldar Warp Beasts as well. If you are not concerned about GW tournament legality Confrontation Tiger of Dirz could also be a posibility.
