Hi guys,

Here\'s a link to a video interview with a couple of the guys working on Warhammer Online. As interviews go its pretty funny. The game itself sounds promising

I\'m more interested in the WHFB strategy game coming out... Saw a couple good videos for that one but I can\'t remember where... Gamespot? It looked really promising.

Not new, well, the game is, but they gameplay looks exactly like the old OLD games like The Horned Rat...

Warhammer Online is gonna be great, no doubt... it\'s mythic! :)

It looks more like Dawn of War to me then the old Shadow of the Horned rat and that other one that came out.

I just hope I get into the Beta for Warhammer Online. I hate the fact you can\'t really try before you buy with MMO\'s and beta testing is a great way to do just that.

Hopefully by 2007 I will be sick of the two I play now as well, so I can afford to pay for a new monthly.

So its been about 8 years since they first announced WOL. Would be good to see it come out but I wont hold my breath (not that I\'ll play a game I have to pay for monthly)

This is a differnt game. 8 years ago GW was producing an online version of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. That was actually near completion and it got pulled.

2 years later Mythic bought up the rights and ditched all the old code and are now working on this title. It\'s the same name but totally different game.

I have a ton of updates on this if people are interseted:

@Ogrebane - yep its still a subscription game

@Gilvan Blight - nice one, cool to see some screenshots, I\'d only seen the trailer so far and that is not in-game graphics. From those shots its looking pretty nice

If they get this right, it could be something special.
Anyone know what race they are planning to be? Gotta be a dwarf for me I think, or maybe someone from the Empire

Yeah it\'s a pay per month, though they haven\'t put out the pricing yet. I know that will discourage most people from the game. Personally I don\'t mind PPM if it\'s done right. With the right MMO to play, I spend far less money on gaming then I would without playing the MMO. I was renting about 3 games every 4 days from rental places as well as picking up 1 or 2 must haves. I got into FFXI and since then I think I have only rented maybe 6 games, and picked up 1 (I <3 Guitar Hero) so overall I am actually under my gaming budget each month now... well at least under as far as PC and console games go... boardgames are another story.

I don\'t mind shelling out a little money every month to play an MMO. It\'s cheaper than going to the movies around here. I\'m really looking forward to Warhammer Online. I hope it lives up to what they\'re saying it will be.

I think with all these shiny new GW computer games, a new computer might be in order. It copes with Dawn of War just fine, but I think it\'ll struggle with Warhammer Online and Mark of Chaos

The other GW game was Chaos Gate.

Not many games give you a chance to test them before you buy them. Best thing to do is head to a local LAN place that carries it and test it out, or pre-order it (which instantly gets you Beta access) and cancel the pre-order if you dont like it.

I\'m not about to give up on WoW forever just for a new game, but I figured it out, and even with two MMOs and mini-painting, I\'m still paying less than I would doing any of the more \"normal\" hobbies.

Alright, the short dwarf-like guy with the dark hair worked for GW, and now works for Mythic keeping them in-line with the Warhammer experience. He\'s the go-between who knows his stuff.

First off, squig battlesuits are just part of squigherder experience. It sounds a lot like the way groups of squig herders work in the game too!

Also, did anyone else catch the answer to the Fantasy Orc question? For years GW failed to say exactly how the Fantasy Orcs reproduced, even though we all knew how they did it in 40k, they never gave an exact answer for Fantasy. Not that it really matters, but I\'m big on the background fluff behind the races, and they just let on that not only were the orcs fungus grown as they are in 40k, but that they also came from space!
