Warhammer Online trailer

Well it seems GW still have a spring in their step on some level even if it isnt the miniatures where they made their name. Both films i have to say are really quite impressive, i just wish the one featuring our lovely lady elf friend there wasnt a MMORPG for the time consumption reasons others have stated.

Mark of chaos looks amazing, cant beat a few of GW\'s trademark lotr homages. What\'s the phrase? Dont mess with the best?;)

bloody hell! those 2 clips are great. probably prefer the second one simply because it looks more \'realistic\'. love stuff like this - it give me lots of ideas and fire my imagination more. that was the best part about firewarrior imo not the game, the clips. mind you i am easily pleased. i loved that little clip of the dread walking and taking fire that was around a few years ago. and all the tests they did for the bloodquest movie

this may be a stupid question, but is there any way i can save that second clip to my hard drive?

i will probably end up buying mark of chaos.

warhammer online looks cool as hell.
but i don\'t like the idea of paying for a game, and then paying every month to be able to play it.

I paint my thumb.
MMORPGs WIL BE the death of video games.

And video games are already the loss of tabletop gaming.

Would that bring more tabletop gamers, I sure doubt so. A videogame of warhammer is like a tv dinner, you don\'t have to do nothing you just sit and enjoy. After owning the game ( If there is such thing as owning an mmorpg..) are they more likely to think \"wow, what a great and imaginative world, I think I\'ll pick up painting and wargaming! Maybe if I practice hard enough, I can paint that Dark Elf witch just like in the cinematic.\"
or \" Wow, there are 15 other mmorpgs for me to choose from!Weeeeeeee! Put it right in my VEINS!!!\"

It will end up just like Wow, monotone, geeky, populated by stats driven losers, marketplace that look like a live Ebay 24/7...
and so on. ( No offense to those who play AND have kept their mind and lives.)

But any market advisor in it\'s right mind would advise that licensed products are sooooo rentable... let\'s see if they do anything good with all that cash.

For Sigmar!

I watched this earlier today (several times, including one frame by frame :D ) and yep it totally made me drop my jaw  . It is, hands down, the best game cinematics I\'ve ever seen. I thought no one would beat Blizzard, but this litteraly gave me goose bumps. Insane animation, beautiful modeling and great directing/camerawork/sound.

Yeah like RFOnline. The videos were mechs, Mechs, MECHS!!!!! But then you get to the game and its \"Sorry mechs are for level 50s and above. And they cost 1,000,000 credits for a basic unit with no weapons.\"

I despise video games, but I wish someone would jusy make full length movies similar to these trailers. I could watch this for an hour, but play online...No way.

MMOs got big because of UO and Diablo, even though Diablo was a MORPG nor an MMORPG. MMOs have become evil because of their desire for money, not to satisfy the player.

Mark of Chaos is a RTS like Dawn of War. Not sure if it\'s the same engine or not.

Warhammer online is a MMO like World of Warcrack.

...and after watching those trailers I badly want them both.

I still say they need to put out some kind of MMO package... Some cheap price (well cheaper price) and pick any 3 MMOs. Just too many games competing for my monthly dollar.

Note: I do play MMOs, and I have a sucessful career, a loving wife, and a \'real\' social life. Just like anything else in life: Everything in moderation.

Meh the graphics are good but hell its just a prerendered cut scene, sure those are always fun, but the kind of ingame graphics they have been showing SS\'s of are nothing in the most remort bit like that trailer.

And another thing, im not a huge fan of this whole \"warhammer\" mmo, i meen think about it, what is it that GW has in the way of originality? WoW already has the cartoony fantasy mmo market completly encompassed, they stamped out DAoC and EQ, and most other mmo\'s, so why does GW think their warhammer universe will do well? its already been done! If they had gone ahead and made a 40k mmo, that would have done well! why?? cause nobody has done it yet. Insted mythic and GW are farting around waiting till games like Huxley come out and take credit for being the first, then they will be like \"Damn why the hell didnt we think of that? we have an entire universe created with history, concept design, multiple races, the whole enchilada, oh well, better raise mini prices to cover the loss\"

And Check it out, have you seen a GW mini that looks like this??
WAR_DarkElf.jpg

Nope, closest thing is one of those wierd old witch things that look like circus freaks in drag
witch1front.jpg

Notice the only thing they managed to get to match the models was the face?

Anyways i just see it as a blatent and poor attempt at trying to steal the Night elf role from WoW
I meen check this out

Ill stick with the night elves thank you very much!

What I find amusing about this comparison is that it is exactly what happened when Warcraft came out for the PC, everyone went on about how it was a direct rip off of Warhammer. Heck the Dwarves even had gyrocopters.

MMORPG had a great article on why this is not like WoW and what is different from other MMOS on the market. What they did to make it sell. The biggest thing is supposedly Realm vs Realm done right. The other draw is the dark fantasy and dark humor of warhammer that currently doesn\'t exist in another MMO format.

Personaly I haven\'t played WoW or this so I couldn\'t tell you which is better or who stole from how, or what chance Warhammer has of lasting.

Here is the article:

Edit oops wrong article: this is the one I mentioned above:
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/loadNews/4949/

Personally I am just really hoping I can get into the beta on this one to try before I even consider buying. If I do get in I will be sure to link to my review.

If it were a Movie all like that I\'d buy it.

As for Computer gaming ...Nah!
I spend too long working and fixing PCs & Servers to even consider using them to play with.

Alright.... That Mark of Chaos Trailer was amazing.

Anybody else think that the cinematics with the Wood Elf is the coolest thing you\'ve ever seen?
