That isn\'t the point of the new starter paints. They are more done so that you can do a single coat of tricky colours like red or yellow over black (or other colours). With the red it does work too, with the yellow it doesn\'t. They are a bit crap for anyone but beginners to be perfectly honest. The fact that you are even questioning them means that they aren\'t for you!
Not so sure why you are so shocked that they didn\'t know PP. The fact that they work for GW means that they are into GW big time, not necessarily anything else. I certainly had no real idea of all the other makes of minis, and no interest in finding out until just a year or so ago, and I\'ve been into GW for about 16 years.
