Looking good, some really nice bits on there.

For improvements I think you could have taken the highlights up on the red a bit further, also I think the cloth areas is too similar to the armor, perhaps you could have made one a bit darker than the other. The rusty weapon looks very cool. =)

The cloth was a very difficult choice. In the end I decided that I wanted a more limited color palette so I went with the red. However, I believe you are right they are a little too similar, I may try to darken it a little but I'm afraid of goobering (that's the technical term) it up and making it look too thick. If not for that I would probably switch to a bleached bone color which is the highlight on his skin but that would definitely goober it up. I will probably take the armor highlights up just a touch with the slightest amount of yellow, I would use white but I want it to remain a vibrant warm color and not cool it off too much. Thanks for the suggestions, as always I'm open to any more criticisms from anybody. I'm not delicate so be tough!

I think it's pretty spiffy! The rusty sword looks good, and I like the way the fur looks. I'd think if anything, we could use a closer pic!

I paint my thumb.
Very neat.
It's hard to shade reds without falling in the dark/brown shading style, which often blends poorly and looks somewhat unrealistic. It's the only thing on this one I don't like too much.

Well just adding some extra highlights to that armour would make it slightly different a good way would be with some blazing the vomit which I feel would work slightly better than using yellow. You could also use some control washes to darken anything if need as these are quite thin and won't ' goober ' it up.

Here is an example of a work in progress I am doing now, the red is done by using blazing orange and then vomit brown.

The full recipe is:

- Basecoat scab red
- Shade Scab and Black it the deepest recesses
- Then build up with scab/ blood red
- Then blood red
- Highlight blazing orange
- Highlight vomit brown
- Glaze Baal red

I will also probaly re highlight it a bit, hope that isn't too long !!! =)

vomit is pretty yellow so thats sort of what I was thinking anyways and will be easier to control. That recipe for red is actually closer to what I did than you might think except that I like to use purple wash and black wash to create the shadows. I'll post pics of how it turns out when I'm done with highlighting the armor and darkening the cloak.
