Warmaster in Golden Demon Open category

I was wandering whether anyone knows of a case when a Warmaster model won a Golden Demon in the Open category.

There\'s been a lot large-scale models that got a Demon, but I have never seen a Warmaster model winning a prize.

Have you?

nopenopenope, but you might be able to anyways, since fanatic hand out a trophy for the best \'specialist entry\' in the UK Demons.

I think that if you were going to enter a Warmaster piece/unit into the open the standard would be very high indead and most of the prizes in the open go to the larger staff models.

You might want to put it in the WHFB unit though as they are eligable for this category.

I\'m planning on entering a warmaster thingy in this years Aus GD, I was going to enter it in the Duel category, but they specify Warhammer or 40K. Just don\'t tell anyone or it won\'t be a surprise...

Of course it probably won\'t win, but if it does, I\'ll be sure to let you know :D ;)

@War Griffon, are they really eligible for the warhammer unit?

you know what\'s funny, i mean, there\'s only a handful of people from the Studio that enter every year, and the open, due to the fact it only gets about 30 to 40 entries a year, is actually one of the easiest to win... i think last year only 2 studio peeps entered, most of them cannot be a***d to.

t_haye2, that sounds pretty logical! And I really like the idea of entering with a Warmaster piece -- it will be at least surprising to see such a tiny entry amongst all the gargantuan Eldar Scouts :)

War Griffon, t_haye2 made a good point: since everybody thinks Open is the hardest to win, few people dare to enter it. The fewer entries, the higher the chance...

Problem with this now is that Warmaster is being pushed quite heavily because of SoC, having said that though on the forums it is still not that well known about.

Now all I have to do is paint something in Warmaster to better my Ogres and I might be in with a chance as I was thinking about entering for the first time with a Warmaster brigade into the WHFB Unit Category, now I\'m going to have to try even harder and go for teh open as well:bouncy:

Now that the Open is purely miniatures based, it\'s actually quite difficult to think of something to enter for it that wouldn\'t be more at home in one of the other categories

smaller scale models

closest thing i can remember is a combination of models [epic and 40K] winning a gold for best duel in games day canada 2003.
