Warning - Spam Hit- \"Help\" message

Dear all,

Please be advised that if any CMONers received a message purporting to come from jodale22@hotmail.com titled \"Help\" directing you to a website , please delete this as I didn\'t send it and therefore believe someone has spammed my hotmail address book. I have advised hotmail of this and am awaiting their response.

Apologies for any problems caused. Any other advice on how to resolve this would be gratefully received.

Hmmm..

Sounds like you have a virus Kat...One of the enlesssly amusing things they like to do is sieze control of your address book and send themselves to everyone in there. I can\'t advise you about how to get rid of it as everyone is different. Do a google search for virus removers...

A common tactic is to send a message to everyone in the address book, but choose a random address book entry as the \"From\" address, rather than the infected machines account.

There\'s a good chance that someone who has you in their address book has the virus/worm.

Thanks folks. It\'s not on our machine, as its my web-based hotmail account that\'s been affected, which is why I\'ve alerted them of the issue. I\'m hoping this will be a one off, since I don\'t think theres anything else I can do about it.
