Warpwolf Stalker part 2

Well it's been a while since my last post because I've been busy working on a side project related to Warmachine that I will talk about in the future. I've also been reading some books on color theory just to educate myself a bit and help me understand how to mix color.

Anyway, I almost finished my Stalker. The base and the final varnish are not done yet.

I tried to take better pictures using a small booth and some better lightning. I need to work on my photography skills.

Skin: This has been the hardest part. I had a hard time blending the different grey I used. It turned out ok but next time, I will use a brighter color as a basecoat.

Leather: Brown ink is awesome. I used it over my basecoat and it gave a rich red/brown leather. The highlighting process went smoothly.

Armor: No matter what I try, I can't achieve a really great contrast. It's even worse in the pictures. I tried mixing white or a brighter steel or pure gold into the bronze color to no avail. Anyway, the end result is not that bad and it looks better in real life. I did a cool "gradient" on the sword handle to match the studio picture and it turned up looking good.

Green: I love the green I chose and I finally achieved an "ok" result using the two brush blending technique on his forearm.

I did the bones part real fast and his tail does not look really good but it was time to move on. I have a complete box to paint and I would like to finish before next year...
