Watching Paint Dry

Well, I'm about to start on my entries for SALUTE.
I was thinking of a single figure but having watched Sprokets entry develop ( Ooo-er missus) not even going to consider that now.

Watch this space for........"Damned if I know".

I've seen your stuff. I say if you want to enter single figure, do it anyway. Sproket went big with that bust. You go the other way - super petite! Be inspired not discouraged :)

ArchArad & Zab thanks for the encouragement, it's appreciated.

However......being the typical show off tart I am, of course I'm going to enter.

Been working on an Archworlde Orc, which I picked last weekend (*).
And following on YetiSa's lead I'm going for a Guild ball team.
Spent this afternoon prepping and doing the base for the Orc. Very minor sculpting tweak needed.

(* Last Saturday I, along with my two friends Paul & Tim, travelled from Bolton to York Racecourse for Varpartnak Wargame show.
That's a round trip of 152 miles.
Trouble was the show was actually on Sunday..............Guess who got the day wrong..Yep. ME!
Queue merciless Rip taking.)

Lol. Definitely a blonde/senior moment there DR. 152 miles isn't bad. But then I do love in a country where traveling longish distances is necessary to get most places.

Ooh a Guild Ball team! YetiSA will be so excited! :D I've been painting up some models for a friend and I must say that the sculpts and casts have been of outstanding quality in the metal minis I've dealt with. Which team are you going with? My guess is Butchers or Brewers.

Hopefully we'll see some of your work up here. You know, for those of us who can't see it in person.

Oh dear........... its not an (lowers voice) AGE thing is it Mike ? :soldier:

YES Lee it was an age thing, seeing as I'm now 60 I got in the show for free.
But my "excuse" was that I'm so busy at work I lost track of what the date was..........Honest guv!

I picked up the Fishermen team, as they have some really outstanding sculpts.

The Fishermen do indeed have some great sculpts and characters. Looking forward to seeing what you'll do with them.

Yes they do. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing your version of Greyscales. I love that mini.

Overall there's about 12 hours work done so far on this "Arcworlde" Orc.
Last weeks work.....well let's just say that the pictures SUCK.
There's a lot of glazes Purple, Hull Red, Transparent Green, Transparent Yellow on the skintone.
Not too happy with the pictures but until I can set up the camera gear the phone will have to do.

I think I'll wait for better pics before commenting. At the moment the skin looks a bit khaki toned. Which seems unlikely.

Ouch - he looks like he's been through the mill a few times. Are you going to make those scars old and faded or new?

Yay Dragonsreach is showing us his painting!

I like the green guy and the texture the white gives to the mini but i think its to white and i am thinking you are gping to do a wash or something over it.the skin looks real nice to me.i really like the texture the white gives it though.

Wow, that's not a pretty face. What body does that had attach to?
He's from Mitch's Military Miniatures and should have been a Delta Force bust. But MMM often have spare heads for which the bodies didn't meet the quality control. I've picked up a few to use as painting class pieces for my friend Paul, who wants to "Up his Game" after being at Euro last year.
This guy got altered into a Pirate by additional hair sculpted on the sideburns and down the neck. He's just going to have to be a "head only" bust, and still not sure what to do with him.

I'm trying to make the scars look as if they healed badly, I've enough personal examples to use as reference but the ones that are out in the open have all faded to white, the largest one which is covered (now 35 years old) still has traces of pink. I reckon it a google images search with a strong stomach is in order.
