Just something I've been pottering with this afternoon, while listening to "Phoenix Rising" as an audiobook.
Something about Steampunk just works for me painting.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond - I've been struck down by the flu.

She's looking good so far DR. I especially like the maroon you've chosen for her top - it works nicely with the green of her pants.

Beautiful colours and miniature!
Do not know exactly why but I would couple this miniature with that little halfling/hobbit miniature that looks like Clint Eastwood. ^^

Nice harmonious colours that remind me alot of hobbits as well :cute:
Is this a 28mm mini or a smaller scale?

Corax, technically she's 54mm scale, which brings her in at just over 34mm in height.
I had intended her for Euro, but a couple of casting flaws I missed during preparation and didn't spot until she was primed, rule her out now.

Still I have a FEW other options open.

Ah that's always a dud to find when getting started on a mini...

You did get me curious about those FEW other options now though... ;)

Corax, I've been painting models off and on since I was in my teens, came back into it big time some 25 years ago.
I have some VINTAGE pieces which are High Lead content, Hinchcliffe Historical pieces which are of a generation which were originally oil painted as well as some more modern and technically finer sculpts I'm looking forward to getting to grips with.
Such as Infamy, Freebooter, Reaper, a Metric Fudgetonne of Rackham Confrontation, for which I blame Jen Haley for getting me addicted to as well as several, OK a lot of, busts.

Ah yeah, I got an idea what you mean, I just started again after an 8yr break and I've been digging through backlog from back then finding all kinds of fun stuff :)

Confrontation is one of those I wish I had more models off but sadly, I didn't really stock up on them back then as I felt they deseverd premium paintjobs and back then I was mainly a speedpainter. Freebooter however I own a couple and plan on expanding that collection over time to come :)

Busts are smth that I am starting to become interested in but haven't done so far, they do seem somewhat intimidating to start with though...

Anyway, greatly looking forward to more of your work, good sir!

This Dragon's been neglected on my workbench for the last Eighteen months or so.
Seing as it was heaving down with rain yesterday I couldn't get any priming done so I decided to sort out what was outstanding on her.
Horns, spikes and base all worked up.
She's from Fenryl miniatures , The Desert Dragon.

Really great work DR, loving that weathered look the dragons stomach 'scales' and the little lady is excellent. I think I know what you mean about painting steampunk style models too. I suppose it's the mix of old and new, in a fashion sense and weapons and whatnot. Very interesting

A Warzone Resurrection Piece which I had intended to take to Euro last year
But huge moulding line in a place inaccessible but visible stopped that idea.

A beaituful sculpt from Mierce miniatures, tiny and regretfully fragile.

Someone's been busy :)

Liking the NMM you got going on some of em, nice color but I do think you can push the contrast on some part just a tad higher unless that's the pictures playing tricks? :)

The face on Lilith has a really nice expression on it which fits perfectly with the slightly tilted, sideways glancing head... I can almost hear her say 'What the f... did you just say to me?'

Love the colours on Lilith! Great work on that piece. The others are also looking good, but she stands out for me.

I completely agree with the above ;) I think it's because that violet/purple dress and also her face and hair, makes her pop over the rest.
